Meet the Team

  • Barbara Franklin

    CFNP, NP-C

    Barbara received her undergraduate degree from the University Of New Mexico College Of Nursing in 1990 and went on to achieve a Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Creighton University in 2007. Her career spans the last 33 years and the thing she loves most is the ability to continue to learn all along the way!

    Early in her NP career, Barb’s primary practice was in gynecology. This is where she developed a love of making plans with patients for wellness. Patients were also requesting aesthetics services and Barb started the journey of learning everything related to aesthetics. For the past 16 years, Barb has undergone extensive additional training in treating clients for enhancements including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, PDO threads, advanced facial procedures, and laser therapy. She has collaborated and trained with many of today’s best and critically relevant providers in the Aesthetics arena in her continued effort to bring evidenced based practice to every area of Chrome. Barb has also been working with BioTE Hormone Therapy since 2012 to assist patients in evaluating and optimizing their concerns with hormonal health.

    Since 2017, the Chrome Aesthetics team has grown adding additional providers, nurse injectors, estheticians, and our amazing support staff. Bringing the very best providers to serve our clients is our team goal!

    Barb’s next endeavor, with partner Marisa Escobar, NP-C, is the development of an educational platform to help bring best practices and train other providers in aesthetic services.

    Barbara is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner’s Council, Sigma Theta Tau, Age Management Medicine Group, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses.

    Chrome Aesthetics and Chrome Beauty were born to bring everything together to meet the beauty and wellness needs of women and men.

    In her free time, Barb enjoys spending time with her family and friends (you’ll hear lots of stories about her kids and grandkids), working in her garden, has a love for a variety of art styles, and enjoys traveling.

  • Marisa Escobar

    MSN, FNP-C, BSN, RN

    Marisa is a proud New Mexico native and a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner with a well-established career in working with clients in Facial Aesthetics.

    She began her career in 2013 as a Registered Nurse in the cardiac intensive care unit. Her love of learning and desire to improve the patient experience and outcomes led her to seek advanced education and obtain her Master of Science degree in Family Practice. She brings over 10 years of experience in patient care and over five years of experience in facial aesthetics.

    In 2022, Marisa partnered with her business partner Barbara Franklin NP-C to continue to build their practice "Chrome Aesthetics". Chrome Aesthetics is a blossoming practice in New Mexico that focuses on delivering the highest quality aesthetic treatments to help patients look good and feel good at any age.

    Marisa's true love is for her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoys traveling the world, being active, and experiencing new things.

  • Elicia Aragon

    Certified Physician Associate

    Elicia was born and raised in New Mexico. She is a Certified Physician Associate who graduated from the UNM School of Medicine PA Program in 2010. She has 13 years of experience in hospital medicine.

    Elicia's passion for medicine, beauty, and artistry has led her to a career in Aesthetic Medicine.

    For 2 years, Elicia has worked at Chrome Aesthetics offering services including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, PRP, Medical Weight Loss, and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy.

    Elicia strives to help her patients feel rejuvenated and confident by enhancing their natural beauty.

  • Joey Gutierrez

    Medical Esthetician

    Joey’s career in beauty began as a freelance makeup artist in 2001. In 2007 he entered the world of retail cosmetics when started working for MAC Cosmetics. After spending the next 10 years learning and growing his craft, it was time for something new, and he decided to go to school for aesthetics. He quickly found a new passion that melded beautifully with his love of beauty and makeup. In 2020, he decided to leave the world of retail altogether, so he and his husband took a leap of faith and opened their own salon to provide hair and skin services. Now, Joey is ready for yet another adventure. He is excited to join the amazing team at Chrome and venture into the world of medical aesthetics, to continue to learn and expand his knowledge and experience.

  • Joleen Bingham

    MA

    Joleen is the newest team member at Chrome Aesthetics. She worked at SRMC with Barb for 10 years as her personal MA. Joleen retired April 28th and started at Chrome Aesthetics on April 29th! She is a grandma & a great-grandma. She enjoys gardening, sewing & spending time with her amazing family. She is the MA at Chrome now and is here to assist you however she can be helpful! She can’t wait to meet you all!

  • Karol Rodriguez

    RN, BSN

    After earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from the University of New Mexico, Karol's career began in a cardiovascular intensive care unit, where she cared for critically ill patients. This experience honed her critical thinking skills and attention to detail, which are valuable assets in her current field. Her journey into aesthetics was sparked by her own struggle with acne, which persisted from adolescence into adulthood. This personal experience gave her insight into the emotional impact of skin conditions and how they affect one's confidence and overall well-being. A desire to help others enhance their confidence and feel great in their own skin led her to pursue a career in medical aesthetics. Her commitment to this field is evident in her dedication to producing the best results possible for her patients through her active engagement in continued education. This ensures that she stays up-to-date with advancements in the field, allowing her to offer proven and safe treatments to her patients. An added advantage is Karol's ability to speak Spanish (Habla español), which helps her connect with a broader range of patients and provide personalized care to Spanish-speaking individuals.

    Karol's approach to cosmetic treatments starts with thorough consultations. During these consultations, she collaborates with her patients to understand their needs and goals, enabling her to create customized treatment plans tailored to each individual. Her holistic approach to patient care, focusing on facial balancing and multiple modalities, showcases her dedication to delivering natural and lasting results. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of treatments, including the use of medical-grade skincare products, cosmetic injectables such as neurotoxins and dermal fillers, as well as advanced treatments like Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, and laser energy treatments.

  • Kevin Daniel Salazar

    Registered Nurse

    Kevin was born and raised in the beautiful state of New Mexico. He has over 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse working in Emergency Medicine, with 6 of those years as a travel nurse working throughout the country. He is planning to further his education to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

    Kevin fell in love with the world of aesthetics while living in Scottsdale, AZ where he received his initial training and certification as an injector. Kevin's personable personality, attention to detail, and eye for beauty blended with the art of aesthetics. His goal is to ensure a safe, positive, and comfortable experience for his clients. He is ecstatic to meet you and help you achieve your aesthetic goals!
