About this treatment
These are natural skin rejuvenation treatments that use parts of your own blood to help your skin look younger and healthier. PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, and PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin. These treatments are popular for the delicate skin under the eyes and for the whole face. They work by delivering growth factors that your body already makes, which stimulate new collagen, improve skin thickness, and brighten the area.
How It Works
A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, just like a routine blood test. The blood is then placed in a special machine called a centrifuge that spins it gently to separate the good parts. For PRP, the plasma layer rich in platelets is collected. For PRF, the process uses a slower spin without any added chemicals, so it keeps more healing cells, stem cells, and a natural fibrin matrix that acts like a soft scaffold. This mixture is then injected into the skin under the eyes or across the face. The platelets release growth factors that tell your skin cells to make more collagen and elastin, repair damage, and improve blood flow. Over time, this thickens thin skin, reduces dark circles, and smooths fine lines. The results build gradually as your skin renews itself.
What It Improves
Dark circles and tired-looking eyes
Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth
Crepey or thin skin under the eyes
Mild hollowing or loss of volume under the eyes
Uneven skin tone or texture on the face
Acne scars or overall dull skin
PRF often gives better results for under-eye skin thickness and subtle volume without looking puffy.
The Treatment Procedure
Consultation - You meet with our qualified provider who reviews your skin concerns, medical history, and goals. They will decide if PRP, PRF, or a combination is best for you.
Blood Draw - A small tube of blood is taken from your arm.
Processing - The blood is spun in the centrifuge right in the office to create the PRP or PRF.
Application - The provider uses a fine needle or a small blunt tube called a cannula to inject the mixture into the treatment areas. Numbing cream or local anesthetic keeps you comfortable. Sometimes it is combined with microneedling for the face to help the product absorb better.
Session Time - The entire visit usually takes 45 to 60 minutes.
Most people need two to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart for the best results. Maintenance treatments every six to twelve months keep the improvements going.
What to Expect During and After
During the treatment - You may feel a little pressure or mild pinching, but numbing makes it very tolerable.
Right after - The area may look slightly red or swollen. Some bruising under the eyes is common but fades quickly.
First few days - Mild swelling, tenderness, or small bruises may appear. You can usually return to normal activities the next day, but avoid heavy exercise, saunas, and direct sun.
Weeks 2 to 8 - Your skin starts to look brighter and smoother as new collagen forms.
Full results - The best improvements show up after two to three months and can last six to eighteen months or longer with maintenance.
